01: What services are provided?

Professional counseling services focused on cultivating goodness and growth in your mental health journey. Often times this looks like developing honesty, honor, and humility in three realms - in your relationship with self, others, and God - with your values and goals informing every step of the way.Clinical counseling services provided are evidence-based and trauma-informed. Services also seek to be culturally-humble and utilize creative experiential approaches (such as music and arts, visuals and analogies, hands-on activities and exercises, etc.). You'll also find Jenny will often refer to complimentary providers, groups, books, and other resources during sessions to further and holistically support your growth.

02: Where is the location?

In-person and virtually (throughout Wisconsin) from Hales Corners, WI. Greenhouse Mental Health is also exploring an additional northern location in or near southern Washington or Ozaukee Counties. Stay tuned! Contact Jenny for more details.Hales Corners is located southwest of the city of Milwaukee, near the centrally-located I-894 freeway, with quick access from the surrounding southeast Wisconsin areas via I-94, I-43, and I-41.Sessions will be offered in a safe, private, and comfortable space. A clarifying note: sessions will not be located in an actual greenhouse - although that may be a lovely opportunity to explore someday!

03: Who will be in the room?

Therapist Jenny Abild and you! A little more background: Jenny has been providing clinical mental health counseling services since 2019, and is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Wisconsin. Jenny received a MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Moody Theological Seminary in Chicago.A thought on bringing yourself to the counseling space: Although we as individuals are sometimes overlooked, shamed, minimized, dehumanized, or not tended to - your spirit, humanity, and personhood endures. You are here, you matter, and I will be honored to meet with you, learn your story, and holistically support you.

04: How does the counseling process work?

As we engage in an initial consultation and assessment, we’ll develop a personalized treatment/growth plan together. Then we will typically meet for 45-60 minute sessions, engaging in approaches and strategies focused on your growth plan.Depending on a client's goals, symptoms (including intensity and duration), and level of interference with every day functioning, some clients will meet weekly for sessions - others biweekly or monthly. We'll decide together what works best for you.

Why Engage in Counseling?

Storms happen.

Because when the storms of life batter and bury your joyful sense of self and hope - when storms wreack chaos and pain on you and your relationships - goodness and growth can be hard to see. Hardships and their consequences are real and often devastating, confusing, and disorientating. You don’t see how the tree will continue on and experience more rings of growth. You don’t see how the tree will grow leaves again - how the brutal winter and bare branches are not the end for it. Pain and darkness feel all-encompassing.

  • People tell you that you are brave, yet that falls flat and does not resonate with you.

  • You are ‘just trying to survive’ and often feel alone.

Radical hope remains.

And yet - gentle and radical hope, present goodness, and meaningful growth are also still available to you. You (and your relationship with self, others, and God) still remain and can be gently held and tended towards goodness and growth. In expected and unexpected ways. Just as a plant is gently tended in a greenhouse after a storm or in a new phase.

  • Growth can be experienced or perceived as small as a mustard seed or as large as a sequoia tree - both matter. Both experiences make a difference in your journey.

  • Growth and goodness can be tenderly held alongside the grief, pain, and loss that still matter as well.

  • Change is non-linear yet can have an overall trajectory and goal of goodness and growth.

  • Greenhouse Mental Health creates space for seeing and honoring these dualities.

you matter.

Greenhouse Mental Health is here to support you

Jenny will softly yet securely hold space for you and the complexities and nuances of your story and mental health journey. The resources, strategies, and approaches that are explored, processed, and practiced in sessions with Greenhouse Mental Health make a difference - both inside and outside ‘the greenhouse space’. You are wonderfully and uniquely made to experience, cultivate, and engage in the goodness and growth that is still available to you. I gently and warmly invite you to engage in this journey together.
